In November 2011, the FDA issued a warning about pet chicken jerky made in China because consumer complaints that they caused illness or death to dogs had increased. Recently duck and sweet potato treats are also being investigated. The FDA states that, “No specific products have been recalled because a definitive cause has not been determined.” Their advice is to watch for digestive problems in your dog if you feed them these types of treats.
